Player Game Limits & Substitute Category
It would very helpful for the team managers if you could apply a limit to the number of "available" players for each game.
For example, netball has 7 players and once the first seven players have accepted, it puts all subsequent available players into a "substitute" category (similar to the who’s coming & who’s not category’s) with an error message stating “this week’s game is full – you’ve been placed on the sub list”.
If a player “who’s playing” player drops out, TeamStuff automatically invites the first substitute to play from the “Substitute” category. However, if the player is not available it goes on to the next player, until a substitute is found or you run out of subs.
In development, should be released in next couple of weeks.
Plan is to allow a maximum number of players per game. Once that’s reached, rest are placed into the existing ‘rostered off’ category – which already allows managers to take people in / out as they need.
COMPLETED : Can only setup/maintain player limits on teamstuff.com web site.

It would be good to also add the minimum required option. At a large club like ashburton we keep track of which teams are short and its currently not easy to see which teams are short for the weekend.

For my teams we have named players and reserves. We need 6 people to be available but if players are available they should be rostered on in preference to reserves. If the easiest way to do this is roster on first come first served by default then manually change them afterwards then that's fine but I'd like a way to flag which of my team are players and which are reserves so it's clear when in the roster on / off screen. Also a confirmation message to the whole team about who is scheduled to be playing and who is currently not needed is essential to avoid confusion

Great, this functionality will rock big time. But please please please combine with the "full time or spares roster" idea. If you do that I honestly think we can stop using what's app entirely! Or team has 10 slots and 10 regular players + 20 spare players. I'd love to offer up to regular players first, then after a set time open up to spare players on a first come first serve basis until all slots are filled.

I'd like this built to support a few different sports. For example, our hockey roster has 15 Full-Time Spots and 5 Spares. The Full-Time players have the first right to attend each game. If they can't make it, or they haven't told us they are coming in time, the spots should be offered to other spares. (I would even like to have tiered offers or manual control over spares. Each spare needs 5 games to make playoffs, so it would make sense to offer a game to a spare with fewer games first. Additionally it would make sense to replace a defenseman with a defenseman before filling the spot with someone who wants to play as a forward.)

This is what teamer does but in practise it does n't work because of playing positions as you can't just choose the next player on the list. If you lose a shooter for example you can't replace them with a centre court player. If it could be more intelligent in the decision then this functionality would be great. I am just not sure how this could be easily coded for multiple sports.
